Would shutting schools help reduce cases of swine flu?

Would shutting schools help reduce cases of swine flu?
Ministers have been asked to consider closing schools this autumn to help curb the number of swine flu infections.

Amid predictions that the number of cases will soar as the school holidays come to an end, two infection experts have argued that a school closure programme could "break the chains of transmission" and buy time to produce a vaccine.

Professor Neil Ferguson and Dr Simon Cauchemez, from the department of infectious disease epidemiology at Imperial College London, also cited studies showing that closing schools at the height of a flu pandemic could cut the number of cases by up to 45%.

Would shutting schools curb the number of swine flu infections? What effect would this have on you? What else could be implemented to help reduce the number of swine flu cases?

School's have never closed in the past and I don't think they should now,Its upto the school to provide care and help diagnose the illness. Parents,Factories and Offices [employment areas] should not be so "BLOODY MINDED" about people having time off to look after sick children, pay the few to go and stop the entire work place being infected. FLU, FLU it always attacks in spring and autumn BUT do you know the differance from common and swine flu the school nurse/first aider may well do and can tell the parents to have time off, not send the child back to infect the school more. If parents were unable to have time off due to school closing then more kids will be at home on their own, this will lead to neglect and more pregnant teenagers.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea, couldn't it be picked up from anywhere? don't see what difference closing a school will make.
