We've been out on the streets, looking for the best and the worst street graffiti. Is this a form or modern art or just vandalism? Watch our video's and then share your views with other Tiscali members.
I was a graff writer, then I got caught. I look back and realise that whether it looks good or bad, you are still destroying someones property. If somebody came and painted your hourse without you asking, you would be a bit annoyed. On the other hand, if done properly, graffiti is absolutely brilliant and really brightens up the dull concrete ungles we have, but its all a matter of taste. All graffiti is art, but the difficulty is trying to find an audience that likes it.

graffiti is a form of art.Good graffiti is top quality but people who just scribble obsenitys are a joke and have no vision. I have seen some graffiti that ranks up there with some of the best artist in the world. Some paintings in theses art gallerys sould be classed as acts of vandalism.

Until 2 years ago I was Graffiti Manager of Southend on Sea.
The cost is astronomical to clean off obsene and unwanted graffiti in our town. And yes it does deter visitors, and brings down the value of the properties.
Unless it is commissioned, and some very good work has been, it is deemed as criminal damage, and if caught, can bring a criminal record.
I had an enormous galley of photograph's of "tags" and worked along side the Police to bring these mindless idiots to book. And we caught quite a few.
When asked if my team and I could have their address so we could "Tag" their houses, we got no takers. I wonder why?

What a mess of graffiti is seen going into London on the train. Must make visitors to this country wonder at us. It is pure vandalism on the part of the fools who risk their lives and others to paint and is on par with dropping litter or fly-tipping. Would be interesting to see the cost to the tax-payer (all of us) of removing it.

Hi there i have to say i am a big fan of Banksy but when it's just rude things and children playing around and thinking they are clever is just wrong. If someone has a true talent and want to brighten up the place then go ahead...

The problem is, most of it is just kids making a mess with spray cans. While some graffiti actually brightens up a dull wall, the majority of it is simply vandalism. You can't expect the local councils the leave the good stuff and remove the rubbish as they just won't know the difference.
