Should cannabis be reclassified as a class B drug?

To re-classify cannabis to class B is a vain attempt by the goverment to regain the middle England vote. God knowes Brown needs some help. I think he should try some himself, he may stop frowning so much and smile(an unforced one) now and then. As for comments on tax by someone earlier(are you smoking to much?)how to you tax an illegal drug.DOH! Holland has not legalised cannabis its just de-crimalised, theres a difference, if a Dutch policeman sees you smoking a joint he can arrest you. Anyway in the wprds of Nickleback "WE ALL HAVE A DRUG DEALER ON SPEED DIAL" LOL.

What does it matter, the police will still have limited powers and people will still use it.

just a reply to nicola who maintains that users should be put away, you have very obviously not seen or been related to anyone that has battled drugs!!!! The trauma that the whole family goes through is horrendous, I am one of the lucky ones my son has survived and is now leading a normal drug free existance. How dare you say they are a waste of space!!!!!! The only thing that I agree with you is that all drugs should be class A.

...And in response to JohnK's earlier comment, I don't mean to imply that the effect on your wife was not unpleasant or unfortunate but it was unusual. Most people aren 't affected to that extent. To say that cannabis should be reclassified based on that one inciden, is like saying everyone should be banned from crossing the road because 1 in every 100 people gets hit by a car. Its just not rational.
