Sir Alan being urged to quit The Apprentice?

Sir Alan being urged to quit The Apprentice?
Sir Alan Sugar's future on The Apprentice is in doubt as he faces increasing pressure to quit the hit TV show after accepting a job from the Prime Minister.

The Conservative party have lodged a complaint with the BBC Trust, claiming that the two roles are 'totally incompatible' and in clear breach of the corporation's rules on political impartiality.

Treasury spokesman for the Liberal Democrats Lord Oakeshott has sided with the tories, claming: "Sir Alan Sugar can't have it both ways. If he's working for the Government he can't have a conflict of interest with his BBC TV programme or his multi-million pound property empire. He should give up both."

It is believed that Sir Alan refused an offer by Gordon Brown to become a Labour minister and instead opted for the role of enterprise tsar. He is also set to receive a peerage despite questions over why this is necessary when he is not to become a minister.

Should Sir Alan quit The Apprentice? Would you be happy or sad to see his departure? Who do would you like to see replace Sir Alan?

Alan says:
So Brown wants transparency. He is now so transparent we can all see right through him. It is not a pretty sight!

Its good to see so many people have seen through Cameron and his cronies. Fedup I fail to see what Brown has to do with the closure of the C&G branches, its been owned by Lloyds TSB since 1997 when it was taken over after the Banks and Building Society deregulation of the Thatcher Tory government. Its just a sign of the times Lloyds TSB are reducing costs, they would have probably done this in the next year or so anyway but the banking crisis that was caused by the banking sector has brought it forward. So what has this got to do with Brown. I agree with the majority of the postings here why should Alan Sugar leave the Apprentice. Cameron and Co are now taking every opportunity to attack the government. I have no issue with that but they are really clutching at straws, they can see that the actions taken are beginning to work and are frit that the Labour government will recover the ground lost. I also remember the Thatcher years and the culture of greed that the evil witch created we certainly dont want a return to those days. I believe that Brown was the best Chancellor that we have had in living memory, but he is c**p as PM. Or present problems have been caused by the greed of the Thatcher boys who grew up during her time and went onto ruin the financial services of this country.

Have we really lost the plot soooooo nuch that we let the papers dictate to us. Come on does the apprentice really mean so much to the country? I am talking real world not tv bollocks. don't get me wrong I like the apprentice it's one of the few programmes I watch but it is still a show! Get real if the Tories are lodging appeals against this then God help us all. Please wake up and stop thinking tv is real life!

Check out a company called Viglen ltd look it up in wikipedia you will see that Sir Alan is a director and this company won a £30million contract to supply 70,000 coumputers to government departments such as the NHS.What with a offer of a peerage and an unelected job in the unelected PM's cabinet along side other unelected peers seems that there is no end to NuLab's sleezy dodgy dealing under this marxist government. We will end up like Zimbabwe with a courrupt leader and government before we know it,we want an election soon to rid us of this courrupt greedy bunch of garbbage.

If Gordon is making such a good job why have C&G just announced the closing of their branches with the loss of 1600 or so jobs,LDV going into administration with the loss of hundreds of jobs........etc. etc.
And why should Sir Alan be some sort of saviour?
There are many self made millionaires around such as Peter Jones,so why Sugar-couldn`t be anything to do with being the face of the Apprentice by any chance ,could it!
Can just see the posters-a take off of the old WW1 ones saying `your country needs you!`,but with Sir Alan saying instead `you`re hired!`.

Gordon Brown is a honest and very hard working prime minister and was the finest chancellor this country has had in many years. His policy on the economy appears to be starting to work and other countries have since followed his lead.
On the other hand, if David Cameron was the Prime Minister he would have done the complete opposite and left people to fend for themselves.
I for one have not forgotten the Thatcher years and let's face it, it is the same old Tories running the show behind the scenes all pretending to be united.
Does anyone remember the schools with buckets in the class rooms to catch the rain water coming in through leaking roofs because the education authorities were not provided with sufficient funding and also the times when interest rates were running at around 15%?

What is all the fuss about ? Gordon Brown has worked damned hard to get the mess the bankers made sorted outand it's working;the economy if you fools would look is begining to improve. Alan Sugar may be able to help so why not use him. At least something positive is being done which is a sight more than you can say for David Cameron. If he said anything positive it would bite his backside and we wouldn't want that would we?
