More than 40 MPs are said to have signed a motion, challenging Gordon Brown's decision to scrap the 10p income tax rate prompting Alistair Darling to meet Labour MPs in an attempt to avert defeat on the 10p tax rate.
MPs are furious that this change will leave lower earners worse off. Ex-minister Frank Field is urging the government to compensate anyone who has been affected by this tax change.

Any person that can do basic math can understand that if you raise the lower band of tax by doubling it you are certainly going affect the standard of living of the people in that bracket.
The "genius" that came up with this idea should be ashamed to call himself Prime Minister and should be booted out of the Labour Party.
