In October 2005 the institute of ideas launched the Battle of Ideas, an annual festival of social, political, scientific, academic and cultural discussion. We've chosen six of this years debates, allowing you to join in the discussion and submit your thoughts and views. All problems and replies are moderated and will normally be posted within 24 hours of being submitted.
Can a film go beyond being a political statement to become a political force for change? Should filmmakers try to change the world, rather than merely reflecting it?
