In a nutshell
His first major role was in the brilliant Party Of Five, a teen drama about a family who lose their parents in a car accident - leaving Charlie (playing by Matthew) to bring them up. Even that long ago, in 1996, Matt was named one of the 50 Most Beautiful People by People magazine. And he only seems to be getting better looking as time goes on, not worse!
Although things went relatively quiet when Party Of Five ended after six series, things really took off on a worldwide scale when Matthew was cast in the new drama, Lost. As Dr Jack Shephard Matthew was nominated for a Golden Globe and even shared the 2006 Screen Actors Guild Award with the cast. For all we know he's still stuck on the island, but it's rumoured that Matthew is the only member of the cast who know what the end of the story is going to be. If they ever get there...
Because, as you might have noticed, Matthew is easy on the eye, a friend of his suggested he should be a model. You can now see him selling men's moisturiser on television. Heck, we'd buy anything if he was selling it.
Matthew seems to have lived somewhat of a busy and varied life, having had his first alcoholic drink at the age of twelve, he started chewing tobacco but eventually decided to start smoking cigarettes instead - they were apparently more acceptable on the modelling circuits.
