All About this Star
In a nutshell
Born in Leeds, Chris left school at the age of 16 to start making the tea (such a classic work experience role) at radio station Aire FM. After getting sick of making tea for Carol Vorderman (who was presenter at the time) he jumped ship as a presenter on now defunct station Luxembourg FM.
As a lot of local radio DJs do, Chris Moyles moved from station to station presenting show to show to show. By 1995 Chris had moved down to London - because everyone from the north thinks that the streets are paved with gold blah blah - and ended up working at Capital FM.
The really big break - going national - came upon Chris' move to BBC Radio 1 in 1997. Starting out in the early morning show, Chris managed to worm his way to weekend programmes before standing in for the breakfast show hosts of the day, Zoe Ball and Kevin Greening.
On the 5th January 2004 Chris started work on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show and had since managed to turn around a series of declining audience figures with his northern banter, regularly slagging off Nicola from Girls Aloud and talking about his running routine. What more could you ask for in the mornings??
