Billie Piper - Biography

Rate: Don't hate the girl but she initially started a 'career' at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London. It was from there that Billie was to enter the public consciousness with her brand of high-pitched, energetic pop music when she signed to Virgin Records. She ended up being the youngest person to chart at number one with her annoying debut single, Because We Want To.

As with most of the teen pop from the early 90s, her career was short lived and after being hated by teen girls everywhere for dating Ritchie from boyband Five (she was even reduced to tears by booing at a Smash Hits concert), Billie threw in the towel.

Usually in these circumstances we never hear of the person again. And this was looking to be the case for Billie until, shockingly at the time, she ended up marrying DJ/personality Chris Evans. Nobody, including us, you and your neighbour's cat could figure out what on earth they were thinking, but as days passed we all saw the tabloids taking photos of the pair merrily drinking away at their local pub. And drinking some more, and some more. They divorced (and stayed friendly) in 2007.

Although the music career was over, Billie decided to pursue her first love of acting and the decision has paid off brilliantly, with her biggest role being as Rose in Doctor Who. She's also signed up for another series of her hit ITV2 show, Secret Diary of a callgirl.
